Steve Chalken - Sports Injury Specialist

I have always been passionate about sport, both as a player and a fan. In my younger years, I played football at a high level for Gillingham and Sittingbourne football clubs before discovering my love for running, drawn to the discipline of individual training.

Over the years, I have completed five marathons, including Amsterdam, London, and Paris, as well as numerous half marathons. I currently run with Paddock Wood Athletic Club and continue to compete at a strong amateur level. Through my own experience, I understand the importance of setting goals, maintaining peak performance, and preventing injuries.

This passion led me to my career in sports massage therapy, where I help others stay active, recover from injuries, and perform at their best. I offer a mobile service across Kent once a month, in addition to working from my clinic in Paddock Wood.

As a fully insured member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT), I have the recognised qualifications and expertise to provide a high-quality, professional service. With 20 years of experience and extensive training—including multiple specialist courses and a degree—you can be confident you are in expert hands.

Sports massage is highly effective in relieving pain, correcting imbalances, and supporting the healing process for muscles, ligaments, tendons, and connective tissue. It also complements other therapies such as physiotherapy and osteopathy, making it a valuable part of injury prevention and recovery.

Anthony set up his practice – Back In Motion, within Paddock Wood Injury and Wellbeing clinic in late 2021 alongside Steve. Anthony holds a Master’s Degree in Osteopathy where he graduated in 2019, after 5 years of training.

Since Anthony started working as an Osteopath, he has built up special interests in complex cases, pregnant/ postpartum women, sports injury rehabilitation and development, and treating from babies to the elderly.

He uses a variety of different approaches to osteopathic treatment, including structural, cranial and visceral. He also believes that the prescription of stretches, exercises and bespoke occupational and social advice to aid in body posture and improved mental well-
being is key in making a well-rounded treatment plan, to ensure your problems don’t relapse over time.

Anthony was introduced to Osteopathy for the first time as a young teenager when he had severe low back pain and functional scoliosis.

Ever since receiving osteopathic treatment, he has been fascinated by the human body, and how the power of a hands-on approach to health can make such a positive difference in someone’s life.
